About Our Afghan Restaurant’s Founder
Rana Iqbal was 17 years old when he started in the food industry. Rana’s first job was working as a dishwasher at McDonald’s. He worked his way up the ranks to become a director of operations. He maintained that position for 27 years and won the Ray Crock Award in 2003. Granted only to the top 1% of managers worldwide, the award was presented to him by Ronald McDonald’s grandson himself. Rana describes that as one of his life’s proudest moments. He took the expertise he gained and branched out to establish his own franchise, opening Jalapeno Fresh Mexican Bistro in 2017. The franchise expanded in 2021 with the addition of Jalapeno Afghan Kababs. There are more exciting developments coming soon, so be sure to stay tuned!
